Scoring methodology

How SEO Battle calculates a 100-point SEO score

SEO Battle scans a website's homepage and scores a fixed set of technical, on-page, crawl, and markup checks. The current model has a maximum score of 100 points.

What a 100/100 score means

A 100/100 score means the scanned homepage passed every check measured by the current SEO Battle scoring model.

It does not mean the site will rank first in search results, receive more organic traffic, or outperform competitors for a specific keyword.

What SEO Battle does not measure

The score is a homepage health check, not a complete SEO audit. It does not currently measure keyword rankings, backlinks, search traffic, Core Web Vitals, content quality, topical authority, domain authority, competitor keyword overlap, or every page on a website.

Two websites can therefore receive similar SEO Battle scores while performing very differently in search.

How SEO Battles are decided

A battle compares the latest available homepage SEO health scores for two domains. The site with the higher score wins the overall battle. Equal scores produce a draw.

SEO Battle can also compare category scores so users can see where one homepage performs better than the other, even when the overall scores are close.

Score history and older scans

SEO Battle currently uses scoring methodology V2 with a 100-point maximum. Older scans created under the previous 65-point model are normalized to a 0–100 scale when they are shown alongside newer results.

The original historical score and scoring version remain stored so older records are not rewritten as if they had been rescanned under the current model.
